Tahiti – Moorea
Includes: return flights ex Auckland to Papeete, 1 night’s accommodation on arrival & departure in Papeete, return ferry transfers to Moorea, transfers to the pension, 6 days accommodation and some surf transfers by boat.
Moorea is an island off Tahiti and one of the most classical lagoons surrounding high peak tropical forest mountains. Moorea is accessible by a regular fast ferry service or 10 minute flight from Papeete – it is easy to get to.
The surf resort is close to the lagoon and short boat ride out to the break. The resort is family operated with a motto of “Hare Mai” – come to us.
Surf access is available by boat (or kayak) to the pass out front and by 4WD to the several other breaks around the island. Ha’apiti is one the best left hand breaks in the islands. It faces south so it picks up swell predominantly in the winter months. It is a long wave with multiple take off spots and sections which wall up or barrel, ending in a deep channel. The north side of th island pick up summer north swells.
The lodge has a spacious fan-cooled double bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilites with an outside patio. Dorm rooms are also available. Suitable accomodation choices are available for couples and singles. The resort offers a fantastic local menu and also the option of self provisioning.
A general store is nearby, in easy walking or biking distance, for food supplies. There are kayaks and bikes available free of charge. The pension is located right on the coast with good swimming and snorkelling on your doorstep and other beach options close by. Explore the island with scooter hire and experience the local restaurants and enjoy the blend of French Tahitian cultures.
