Surf Air's Twin Otter Amphibian Sea plane is looking to commence scheduled flights late March- please enquire on costs for this option.

There's not much that hasn't been said about this area and the perfect surf breaks. Upon arriving in Padang on Tuesdays (and returning to Padang on Thursday mornings) you are transferred to the harbour where you will board the "Ambu Ambu" ferry and set off that evening on your crossing. Arriving in the Mentawai's early the next morning, you're then transferred by speedboat to the resort.

While the maximum number of surfing guests accepted to stay at Macaronis Resort is 20, they can accommodate a great mix of 16 surfers and 16 non-surfers. Accommodation is on the second floor of the main building, which has been expanded out an additional 6m radius (4m room / 2m balcony) which allows 16 guest rooms around the circumference of the second floor of the main building. Each private air-conditioned suite bedroom elevated 8m above sea level with Queen-sized bed OR two single beds, with ensuite bathroom, hot shower, work desk, clothes storage, complimentary WiFi internet, wall mounted 32 inch flat screen TV with International channels, DVD player, large 1.8m x 4m veranda with ocean views, sea breezes and drop down blinds on balcony for privacy from neighbors.

The resort offers a variety of tasty and healthy meals (hot and cold breakfast, 2 course meal for lunch, and 3 course meal for dinner). Their chefs focus on an Asian style of cooking with locally caught seafood and some Western favorites thrown in for good measure.

Also included is the use of recreational facilities and equipment including lagoon style swimming pool, snorkeling and spear-fishing equipment, game fishing equipment, sea kayaks & stand up paddle board. Some amazing snorkeling spots with great spear fishing opportunity are located in walking distance from the resort..!!

Macaronis (2-minute dinghy ride from the resort site): Macaronis, or "Maca's", is a perfectly-shaped mechanical left-hand barrel that has been described by many as being the most high performance wave in existence

Maca's Right (2-minute dinghy ride from the resort site): Maca's Right is a long mellow wave with a couple of sections. The outside section is the best and safest option and is ideal for longboarders or those seeking a crowd-free alternative to Maca's Left

Hollow Trees (HTs) (45-minute from the resort site via speedboat): HTs (or Lance's Right) is a fast, perfect, barreling right-hander, and is a dream wave for natural footers

Lance's Left (45-minute from the resort site via speedboat): Lance's Left is a long, magnificent left-hander that is regarded as one of the most consistent and user-friendly breaks in the area

Bintangs (45-minute from the resort site via speedboat): Bintangs is a short right located on the northern side of the bay near Lance's Left

Rag's Left (30-minute from the resort site via speedboat): Rag's Left is a long barreling wave that turns on during large southwest swells

Other breaks: Rag's Right, Thunders, Silau Left, Bat Cave (a mellow right) and Greenbush (an epic barreling left).
