Waidroka Bay Resort is a piece of paradise conveniently located on the Coral Coast on Fiji's largest island of Viti Levu. It is nestled in the rainforest at the ocean's edge. In Fijian, "waidroka" means fresh water and, in this case, refers to the beautiful spring creek that gently flows through the surrounding forest.
The resort has access to several surf breaks - most along the coral coast as well as Frigates Reef, which is a 45min speedboat ride.
Frigates Reef is a very consistent long (up to 150+m rides) left hand break with multiple take off spots. Surf trips here usually last around 4 hours. Closer to the resort there are a handful of other left and right hand breaks to suit those after mellow as well as hollow barreling waves.
Surf transfers start from NZD$70.
Accommodation includes deluxe oceanfront bures (cottages) with large front decks; comfortable queen-size beds with ocean views through large, louvered, screened windows; ceiling fans; private bathroom with full tile shower; hot water; 24 hour electric power. There are also lodge rooms and a 12-person dorm.
Waidroka Bay Resort is the only main island resort offering surf trips to Frigates passage and five local Coral Coast reef breaks. The resort also offers plenty of activities for non-surfers.
