Matanivusi a boutique resort. Their emphasis is on the guest experience – they do everything to make sure you have the best surfing holiday possible. The architecturally designed resort has taken advantage of the natural beauty and is set between the creek and the white sand beach. The above ground boardwalk takes you to your bure which is only metres from the ocean.

The deluxe room has been created for the tropical getaway with maximum use of glass & louvres, fan cooled, fully screened and mosquito nets. These large rooms have an ensuite with hot and cold water, king size bed or king singles, a sitting area and private deck. They place a high priority on the quality of food and service. There is a fully stocked bar in the restaurant which overlooks the swimming pool and out to the lagoon and surf breaks. The bures are such that with friends or family you can open the adjoining doors and socialize or they can be locked off – it’s up to you.

The resort has access to several breaks just a short boat ride away. They also have access to other breaks including Frigates Passage.

If the surf is good then you stay out as long as you can last or you might even go in the morning and then in the afternoon. They require a minimum of 3 guests for Frigates trip as it is 20km offshore. This is an all day excursion with lunch provided on the boat.

The non surfers are well catered for with activities like fishing, snorkelling, relax by the pool, have a massage, try a new cocktail, go beachcombing, relax, read, kayak, snorkel, go shopping (Suva or Sigatoka), visit the Kula Eco Park, visit the village or waterfall there’s lots to do.

Their staff all come from the local village and the opportunity to absorb Fijian culture and the way of life is always available – try Kava with the locals or hear the beautiful singing at the church service.
