Chicama Surf Resort is located on the famous beach of Chicama, close to the city of Trujillo (North Peru), where you will find the world’s longest left ... over 1 mile of a never ending perfect tube!
The main break has 5 different sections. Consistent hollow, fast, and, powerful tubular waves up to 1 mile long, with an average of 3 to 6 feet almost all year round.
here are other world class waves nearby, such as Pacasmayo (a consistent left that holds up to 8ft+) and Poemape (fast barrelling left), where you can also experience some of Peru's best waves.
Chicama and, specially, Pacasmayo, have wind speeds up to 30+km/hr that offer you the possibility of practicing Windsurf and Kite Surfing at its best.
You will find waves all year round, however the best months to surf are between March and October. A 2-3 mm suit and booties are always recommended.
The resort also has powered watercraft which will be available during surfing hours to allow you to enjoy your surfing experience to the max. Boat assisted surfing allows for more time surfing and less time paddling or walking back to a good starting position. As the break is so long its a real help to have them on hand to take you back out to the line up- or outside point. The watercraft will also be available for kite or wind surfing in Chicama.
The resort is situated back in the bay on the hill overlooking the break and can accommodate around 40 guests. The resort is set up not only for surfers but for partners and families as well, offering a health spa (steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and massages), gym and entertainment room (pool table, large flat screen tv and internet/computer facilities.
Peru, apart from its waves has some extremely unique and amazing history and culture. The resort is more than proud and happy to arrange day trips to places of interest - many of which are world heritage sites (such as Chan Chan).
The area has an average temperature of 24°C with highs of 30°C and, lows of 16°C. The warmer months are November through May, and, the cooler months are July through September.
Experience central America’s (and arguably the world's) longest left hand point break!
