Lake Tahoe Region

The North Lake Tahoe Region encompasses the 3 mountains of Squaw valley, Alpine Meadows and Northstar. This area is stunning with the ski field having views over the whole Tahoe region and Lake. The annual snow fall over this Northern Tahoe region averages at 10meters which make for some great skiing or boarding. There are 2 main villages at Squaw Valley and Northstar but also easy enough access to Alpine Meadows in this Northern Region also.

Squaw Valley is located at the end of the stunning alpine valley cradled by six high sierra peaks nestled between truckee and Tahoe city on the northern end of Lake Tahoe. Squaw valley is unique to offer American snow destination as it offers more open bowl skiing/boarding instead of the traditional ski trails. Squaw valley is perfect for those that enjoy the natural terrain mountains have to offer and not just trail skiing. The village itself has a European style to it and has many restaurants, shops and support services that skiers would expect to find in other big ski resort areas. With a variety of trails, 33 lifts and peaking at almost 2,758m, the longest run on this classic mountain is an astounding 8.2km! Squaw Valley has an average annual snowfall of a AMAZING 11 METRES! and has trails to suit everyone. Best season: November through to March.


Squaw Valley Lodge

Squaw Valley Lodge is located beneath the ski lifts and only a few steps from the Squaw valley aerial tram, local restaurants and shops. This Ski in/ski out lodge offers studio and suite options. Rooms are spacious and well appointed condos with kitchenettes or full kitchens, microwave oven, cable TV, DVD and oversized bath. Onsite facilities include health club, outdoor heated pool, indoor spa, sauna, steam room, on site massage, ski storage and covered parking.

Northstar has 89 trails spread over 2,904 acres of skiable terrain. The Mountain itself has world class terrain parks and snow sports including alpine and telemark skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and tubing. The mountain village also has a 9,000 square ft ice rink located in there small village which also has restaurants, shops and hosts some special events. With a variety of trails, 18 lifts and peaking at almost 2,624m, the longest run on this classic mountain is 2.1km. Northstar has an average annual snowfall of 9 METRES! and has trails to suit everyone. Best season: November through to March.

Northstar at Tahoe

Northstar and Tahoe offers over 200 condo, studios, lofts and hotel rooms. Located within walking distance or a short shuttle drive to the village at Northstar where you will find gondola access, dining, skating, art galleries, boutiques, events and music on special occasions.

Alpine Meadows has 7 powder bowls, summit to base groomed trails, kids programmes and relaxed atmosphere Alpine meadows offers a great experience for the whole family. Alpine meadows was ranked as a top winter resort by powder magazine and offers 2,400 acres of skiable terrain. But Powder isn’t the only thing that makes Alpine meadows great, the National park and Lake Tahoe area which all can be seen from Alpine meadows make some of the most picturesque trails with more than 100 trails. Within these trails the mountain boasts an average annual snowfall of a AMAZING 12.5 METRES!! With 14 lifts and peaking at almost 2,633m, the longest run on this classic mountain is only 1.6Km... but good things come in small packages! Best season: November through to March. Alpine meadows does not offer any accommodation at the base of the mountain so best accessed from either Squaw Valley or Northstar alpine villages.

If you choose Tahoe you wont be disappointed, access to all 3 mountains is easy so choose one or do all three the choice is yours.
